Mike is unquestionably the worlds leading sports performance analyst. Formally Director of the world renowned Centre for Performance Analysis in University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC), Cardiff, he is currently visiting professor to eight leading European Universities where he has helped design practical post graduate applied performance analysis programs. of sports and top teams all over the world. Mike has worked with hundreds of coaches all over the world and numerous governing bodies and has authored over a hundred scientific articles and several books in the area of performance analysis.
Mikes research interests embrace notational analysis of sport, the effect of fluid dynamics in sport, the physiological demands of squash, computer aided learning, skiing, analysis of coaching behavior and developing methodologies in notational analysis. Most of his work has been in analysis of sport where he has pioneered computerized analyses of this complex interaction of variables. He has defined conceptual models so that this methodology of gathering data can be rigorously applied and these data consistently analyzed.
